Trainee & Client Experiences:
WOW! What an AMAZING STUDY JOURNEY our MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS EXPERIENCED with you all today!
Of course, I knew it would be, because you guys are AWESOME and truly a hidden treasure that needs to be found by all (funny that is just how i feel about Saint Lawrence... that is why I knew we would be a match for eachother)! :)
First and foremost, the talk you gave the students on the importance of having POSITIVE ATTITUDES and BEING NICE to others was CRUCIAL for middle schoolers to hear from someone else their teachers and parents! ha! We as adults know that these two LIFELESSONS, along with having/keeping/practicing FAITH, are the most VITAL to one's HEALTH and WELLNESS for life!
After your talk about the "EMOTIONAL side of health", the actual PHYSICAL EXPERIENCE of today was STRONG and JOYFUL! Truly, as I went from station to station, I was TOUCHED by the look of sheer DETERMINATION and BELIEF on these STUDENTS FACES! The students were FEELING AND BELIEVING their own STRENGTH as they were LIFTING weights, JUMPING in and out of hoops, RUNNING power bursts or SPEEDILY CREEPING the crazy werewolf creep! It made me very HAPPY!
They were HAVING FUN AND LOVING LIFE... you could see it in their SMILES and hear it in their GIGGLES and CHEERS! I believe this is a GIFT of BODY-N-MOTION.... you take something that can be hard/difficult/dreaded(my view 4 months ago anyway), like exercise, and you make it SIMPLE and MEANINGFUL .... AND BEST of ALL you each do it with such GRACE and EASE!!! THANK YOU! I TREASURE YOU ALL as PROFESSIONALS at what you do as well as treasure each of you as FRIENDS! I will CONTINUE to bring our SAINT LAWRENCE STUDENTS to you to gain this POSITIVE EXPERIENCE! TOGETHER we can be the GREATEST TEACHERS/MODELS of what it means to LEAD HEALTHY and FULFILLING LIVES!

I'm writing to recommend Mike White's Body-n-Motion approach to personal training. Sixteen years ago, I fractured my tibia skiing. I had several personal trainers, who repetitively did the same boring work out for each visit. Eventually, I got bored and tried to do it on my own. When that didn't work, I found a new trainer and repeated the cycle.
Mike's approach is different. He understands the need for resistance training, aerobics, diet control and water intake. For the past year, I have NEVER repeated the same program! This has indeed sparked my interest in returning for more! His positive attitude helps his clients obtain the desired results, providing they are willing to do their part with diet control.
I unconditionally recommend Mike as an ethical, knowledgeable, likeable expert in exercise physiology, who applies his common sense approach to his clients' needs on an individual basis. My patients have found him to offer exactly what they needed to live better. If you have any questions, please feel free to call me!
Sincerely,
David McLaughlin, M.D.
Over the last three years I have trained here, your approach and the trainers I have worked with have been extremely helpful. I like the intimacy of a smaller gym but never felt that anything was missing. I have learned how to use my own body for exercises that one never knew existed and have been increasingly convinced of the benefits of exercise. Although I sometimes think that your trainers take a bit too much pleasure in my struggles, the improvement in my strength and tone has been well worth it.
Good luck in these trying times.
Sincerely yours,
Steve Pennal M.D.
I just wanted to drop a note about my experiences with Body-n-Motion and with Nelson. As you know, I have two herniated disks and an additional bulging disk in my lower back, which was diagnosed in Spring 2008. I elected to avoid the back surgery in place of therapy to increase my range of motion and be able to maintain my active lifestyle.
Since starting with Nelson, I can't tell you how pleased I have been with him as a person, his attitude, his interest in my daily condition and with your facility overall. Nelson has continued his education, on his own time, to learn more about my condition and the exercises that will help me throughout my week. He is careful on my sore days and always helping to get me to a new level in my range of motion on the good days. He is also very accommodating to my ever changing schedule and has offered to do whatever he can to help me out.
I'm always telling friends and family that if I didn't have Nelson to rely on in my therapy, I wouldn't be able to function anywhere near the capacity I have now. To think a year ago, I couldn't walk, work or move to the point that I would've done anything to ease the pain compared to where I am now is just amazing and I really think most of the credit goes to Nelson. Hard to believe, but I've put down 10 yards of mulch, painted two rooms, moved heaving landscaping, shoveled out of a 12" snow storm and drive in my car hours at a time for work and I'm able to manage my sporadic pain to a level a few Advil can cure. Absolutely amazing to me, especially when I think back to last spring.
Thanks to you and the rest of the quality trainers you have there at Body-N-Motion. All of you deserve a note of thanks, but please pass on my sincere thanks to Nelson for everything he has done for my quality of life and me.
Regards,
Bob Gallagher
I will be 65 soon and was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease at the age of 60. My close friends were the ones to notice I had symptoms of "something being wrong". Luckily, my friends noticed because my husband and I had not. The list of Parkinson's symptoms was like a check-off list; I had most of them. The Parkinson's disease, in my case, started in my legs. First the left one and then the right, I was having a very difficult time with balance. Just a few months ago, I had my 17th fall. The good news is I never broke any body parts, but I sure was black and blue.
My husband took me "kicking and screaming" to Body-N-Motion where they do personal training. I met with the owner, Mike White also known as "Mr. Motion". I was convinced immediately that Mikes knows what he is doing and is familiar with Parkinson's. He assigned me to one of his personal trainers. Mike put a plan together for Jeff, his trainer, to work on my balance first. Jeff was kind and gentle, always encouraging me to go further.
I remember my first visit. I saw all the equipment and was intimidated immediately. I thought I would never be able to do some of the routines I saw others doing. Well here we are 8 weeks later and I am doing much of what everyone else is doing and most important of all, "I know it is the best thing I could be doing and am progressing well".
You know what makes me feel so good? My husband and friends notice the difference. But best of all, my Neurologist thinks I am doing well. I have bounce back in my body. I must thank Mike and Jeff for giving that back to me.
